Yellow Jackets

Heh! Had one of those critters fly into my truck yesterday when I got out. It was raining fairly heavy, and I didn't want to play tag with him in the rain so I just closed the door. I'm about to head out, so I'll have to be on the lookout for that dude.

They've been terrible around here. Trying to eat outside is impossible. I've seen them attacking honey bees too.

My personal favorite was dealing with the nest inside an old basketball hoop stand. Steel pipe. I sprayed butane into the bottom of the pipe, and touched off a nice bit of mortar fire... WHOOMP ! flaming yellowjacket nest 20 feet up in the air.

The survivors tried to launch a counter attack, but I touched off a few more launches and they stopped.

Same here. They took over the bird watering station. There must be a big nest or two around.

I bought a yellow jacket trap for the first time; it works pretty well, but they keep on coming.

Is it because the trap attracts them? Just wondering if it's a vicious cycle.

Big year for them, very dry summer, now they are desperate for moisture.

This is so true!!! They screw with you whether you are aggressive to them or not.
