My last boss was diagnosed with lung cancer and was given two weeks to two months to live. She died exactly two weeks after her diagnosis.

I so wish that the "how long I got?" prognostication did not happen.

I'd like to think I'd be cool enough to give him the nod accompanied by 'Mr. Braugher.'

But in reality, it would be more like 'OMGOMGOMGANDREBRAUGHERYOUKNOWWHOYOU AREYOU'REANDREBRAUGER!

I'd want to say "I love your work." I will have the practice this phrase in my mind, in case a similar circumstance arises.

Is this ever likely? Well I might run into Stephen Colbert in Whole Foods.

Yeah. A friend of mine from dog walks died of lung cancer. It was only discovered because she had back pain and was getting checked out for back surgery. She didn't live very long.
Same here...what was thought to be pain from osteoporosis turned out to be bone cancer.

That relative went immediately on Hospice and lasted only around four months.
