Chase emailed me about their annual $95 fee, I canceled the credit card, but they keep emailing me about the $95. I couldn't pay even if I wanted to as the account has been de-activated. Do I ignore the emails or do I call them?

I think you're fine, but I would probably just call them.

Can you do online chat with them? If so, I might go that route as you would have documentation of the conversation. Call me paranoid, but I don't trust any company anymore.

Dave,
Definitely have in writing confirmation the account was closed _prior_ to the billing of the annual fee. If the account was still open when the fee was applied, then it counts as an open charge on the account. If that is the case, you'll need to have them issue you a credit for the fee and then send you a letter confirming the account has a $0.00 balance and closed. Make sure it detailed is was closed per your request.
