It has been an interesting time.

Outside the smoke is pretty bad. It stinks. I can't see the sun or the surrounding hills. It's not as bad as some prior years but it's not great. Today everything was yellow like an apocalyptic movie. There is ash in the air and it's on everything.

Inside the smell of smoke is noticeable and I have a new HVAC system with a big thick filtration system. I'm running an extra air filter inside and that has been working well.

The fire is threatening the irrigation system so they have reduced water flow. This means we all have to take turns getting irrigation water. So right now I'm watering my large lot with house water. It's very time consuming but at least I have water!

The fire itself isn't particularly close so neither of us (ztirffritz) has to worry about that. The closest town (barely) that is on alert to possibly evacuate is about 13 miles away (Tieton). I have learned that the Watch Duty app is much better for monitoring than Facebook. https://apps.apple.com/us/app/watch-duty...1574452924

Thank you for the concern

Here are some pictures

There's a mountain obscured by the smoke. You just can't see it.

The sun trying to burn a hole through the smoke.

There is a town down there and hills beyond that...

Ugh! That can't be healthy. Maybe time for a road trip? Nice and clear here in my neck of the woods.

So obviously the fire is the red area, go to the right to see the town of Tieton,
then look south-east for the blue dot and that's us in Yakima.
