Really stupid (R)-Rep from NJ on Iranian UFO drones
#1
This guy's an idiot...with a vote for America's future.

The Pentagon on Wednesday refuted Rep. Jeff Van Drew’s (R-N.J.) claim about Iran launching drones recently spotted in New Jersey via a mothership.

In a Wednesday interview on Fox News’s “The Faulkner Focus” with anchor Harris Faulkner, Van Drew said, “from very high sources, very qualified sources, very responsible sources, I’m gonna tell you the real deal: Iran launched a mothership, probably about a month ago that contains these drones”

“That mothership is off — I’m gonna tell you the deal — it’s off the East Coast of the United States of America,” he added. “They’ve launched drones.”

At a briefing Wednesday, Pentagon deputy press secretary Sabrina Singh responded to the claim.

“There is not any truth to that. There is no Iranian ship off the coast of the United States and there’s no so-called mothership launching drones towards the United States,” Singh said.

What district is he from and when is he up for re-election? Boot his butt out.

One nice thing about having a house in the boondocks is that we only get CBS (from both sides of the mountain) and NBC on the other network channels - ABC, CW and FOX.

Okay, his theory is silly. But something is going on.
https://www.npr.org/2024/12/11/nx-s1-522...sey-drones

A U.S. Army base in northern Morris County has already had at least 11 sightings, Army officials said this week, several of which came even after the Federal Aviation Administration moved to temporarily restrict drones from flying overhead. In neighboring Somerset County, the FAA has also banned drones from flying over the golf course owned by President-elect Donald Trump.

It's not illegal to fly a drone in New Jersey, so long as the operator is certified with the FAA. Small unregistered drones being used for recreation can be flown in unrestricted areas.

But the number and mysterious nature of the sightings have left many Garden State residents on edge. So too has their size, as many of the drones appear to be larger than those that are typically used by hobbyists.

I agree something is going on.

I believe the majority of it is conspiracy-mongering feeding on ignorance. To what end I cannot comprehend. It probably dovetails with a legitimate drone operation of some sort like a pilot program for a delivery service.

Some video I saw on this on some channel's evening news a few days ago - and it could have been FOX when I was flipping channels or a captive observer somewhere - showed things I recognized as actual legitimate airplanes flying overhead at night. Except when they were showing video clips of people flying consumer drones during daylight.

Most of the people interviewed seemed like this might have been the first time in a long time that they'd gone outside for some fresh air. Looked up, saw an airliner flying overhead, and didn't know what they were seeing because they never bother to look up.

Oh and Jeff Van Drew is the first term US Congressional Rep elected in 2018 and former Democrat who turned Republican in 2020 after opposing the first Impeachment trial of the 45th President; he also voted to overturn the 2020 election's results.

What’s “going on” in my mind is why the military can’t or won’t explain what’s going on.

Same here.

My theory is it's a military or Homeland Security experiment, and part of it is gaging public reaction to spotting the drones.

The Pentagon saying "we don't know who is flying these, but we are certain there is no danger" is strange, and not credible. One of those things isn't true.

Good thing they have lights or we would never see them until it was too late. Those Iranians sure are clever.
