I believe that it was Dick Cheney who was evil incarnate. I think W was a none-too-bright, artistically inclined, dry-drunk who got pushed into politics by his family and was happy to let Cheney do all the planning and scheming while W concentrated on things that interested him. He understood that migrants were the backbone of the economy because he was from Texas, and he fought off the kind of nonsense we see today. He seemed to be non-racist and non-bigoted. If you recall his speech after 9-11, he was so heartfelt and so moved and so determined to keep America strong; then he let himself get talked into all the BS of the Patriot Act and invading Iraq and all that right wing crapola which totally ruined a lot of lives here and abroad. I bet he really DID think there were weapons of mass destruction, because I doubt he ever did any research on his own, meaning he believed whatever he was told. He shouldn't have been in government at all, but that's the family biz so he got sucked into it and was never very good at it. The people around him took advantage of that to push their corporate agendas. I simply do not think of him as evil, that's my two cents.
As for Trump, he is out for himself only, and will walk right over anybody including family if he thinks it will benefit him. He is stupid intellectually but he is smart at being a bullshit artist. Good enough to fool a third of this country into thinking he has any value as a human being at all.
