Job report coming out shortly

Just mentioning this again, and adding something I had not known previously: this survey was taken early in the month, so probably won’t reflect the…uh…let’s just say “job losses” that Elmo and crew have been busy at fomenting.

Also, it’s got an easy comparison M/M, as bad winter weather suppressed January’s jobs numbers (which were +143,000).

So it may not affect the market much.

Still fell short of expectations, with a tick-up in unemployment:

The U.S. added a decent 151,000 new jobs in February, but the labor market could soften up in the months ahead as the effects of tariffs, federal spending cuts and mass layoffs of government workers percolate through the economy.
The increase in hiring last month fell somewhat short of the 170,000 forecast of Wall Street economists polled by The Wall Street Journal.

… The unemployment rate, meanwhile, inched up to 4.1% from 4.0% in the prior month.
