I actually did one, maybe 20-30 years ago... Probably used the Apple Ice or IIGS..... can't remember for sure, but it was a long time.
I suppose doing it yourself, with an online program, like NOLO, is somewhat risky. Or should I ask around for a recommendations?
I wonder what the cost would be. 3 Adult Children. 3 Properties ..... etc.

Had ours done last year. Nothing fancy, cost less than 2 grand.

I got a recommendation for a lawyer. Since your children are grown it should simplify things.
Considering the amount of money at stake, hiring a lawyer probably looks like reasonable insurance to make sure the job is done right

We went to one of those “free dinner at a fancy restaurant” things for wills/trusts. Got a revocable living trust plus wills done with them. I researched it and there’s almost no downside to setting it up(and tons of upsides). I think it came in just under $2k for us as well. Do it.

Micro,
My usual response. Seek a reputable, experienced estate attorney. This is a time when you want it done correctly. While you're at it, you should also review all of your documents, i.e. will, living will, powers of attorney, etc. Make sure they are update and account for any changes that have taken place in your life since you had them done. This assumes you've had your paperwork done already.

I always feel like you should be able to find someone (i.e. an organization) to do it for free if you agree to leave them a substantial amount....
