I thought I read about this subject here recently, but I searched and didn't find anything. Partner and I got new midline Hon chairs from Costco at the start of the pandemic, sometime mid-2020(?). Like regular price 270 with 50 off on sale. The piston on her's failed recently so after spending 10 minutes thinking about putting a new piston in the old chair, I decided something new was in order.
Last week I get an email circular from Costco about a "Special Event" that included the Hon Ignition 2 for 279. I grabbed one for her as soon as I saw it and the plan was to get it, check that she wanted it and I would check it out and if I liked it I would order one for me, as all this would happen within the sale window.
She liked it, I liked it, but when I went back to order another one, they were out of stock and stayed out of stock. Long story longer...
Over the weekend I went to a used office furniture place and sat in a few chairs. I liked the steelcase Amia best (they had serveral high end chairs to check out). Sticker was for 350, I waited until one other customer left on a late Saturday 1/2 hour to close and asked the dude what the bottom line was out the door. 250 cash and I left with the chair. Been using it a day and a half and it is a major improvement.
Just want to give a thumbs up to that method of looking for good work seating when that time comes for other forumites.
