How to "fill in" stone with epoxy with large missing pieces
#1
I've got a granite slab with missing pieces and I'm hoping to make a table or reuse it for something. But, I have to fill gaps with something to make up the space. Suggestions?

i'd post a photo but have to downsize it first which means some work which i will do at some point.

I have seen people on TV fill voids in wood with epoxy to make table tops, so I think that should work.
They used epoxy that you pour.

In general, make a mold big enough to hold the stone in the position(s) you want; make sure the mold is leakproof or you will make a mess. Use an epoxy to pour into the cracks and around the stone to the depth of the stone If you want it clear, then don’t add colorant to the epoxy, or choose a color or metallic to add to the epoxy for the pour. Once it is set you can remove the mold and plane the surface of the stone top to get the look you want. Too thin a top and it may crack, and too thick and it’s hard to handle.

But that’s just me.

Alternatively you can make a table top of the size of the stone after cutting.

Good luck.

Seems to me in the back recesses of my foggy memory I've seen, read, or heard, about somebody using stone dust (in your case it would be granite) with epoxy to make a filler.

Depending on the size(s) of the gaps / how big the pieces you have to fill in, and if you care about appearance, you might consider using Oatey Fix-It Stick: https://www.lowes.com/pd/Oatey-Fix-It-St...ty/3132883

... this stuff is amazing, it is sandable and paintable and dries hard as a rock. You could conceivably paint it to match the granite.
