have a couple of 5.25 in. external FW enclosures that were returned by client after HD's died... these are mostly plastic w/ thin metal lining that the side panels snap together on to close the box for final use... haven't used this type in a while, and forgot where to start prying to open these suckers back up. IIRC, there's a right way to approach this disassembly, and I'd like to re-use the cases after getting the drives out. I do remember breaking one pretty badly earlier in life, by prying from the the wrong side. thanks,
Buzz

plumax cases? i think you start from the back and they snap of a lot harder than you think
odds are they will only take 128 gig or smaller drives

started it with a screwdriver, because I couldn't get enough of a grip with just my fingers, didn't pry... snapped it with fingers only on the fourth or fifth flex; each progressively harder... the other side pretty much popped right off, save the one little plastic ear that didn't play nice...
