I'm sure your Post Office is just like the two near me, always crowded. When I do have to mail a package I prefer to go at night and use the Automated Postal Center (APC). Can I mail a package to a ML from the APC or do I have to do something special for those?

I may have waited behind 6-8 people a few times over the years. We don't even have
an APC. Can't you do it online and just drop it off. If it won't go through at home it probably
won't go through the APC either. We do everything we can at home and just drop off on the
counter. I guess sometimes it's nice to live in a rural area where they know us by our first
name at the PO.

Still not certain what a ML is, but I've been telling you for what seems like years now to do your shipments from home/online.
You've got a house now, you just weigh/measure the package, print the label out, stick it in the mailbox or set it on the porch (or inside even) and schedule a carrier pickup (for free).
(If it fits the mailbox, no pickup schedule required).
It is so much easier to weigh, measure, and stick your package in the mailbox rather than drive to the P.O., wait in line, pay, and drive back. The mailman drives by your house 6 days a week anyway..

ML = military location. I thought there were more hoops involved than just a regular package.

I've sent three Priority Mail packages to my buddy in the army over the last year.
It's just like a standard shipment, but one of the longest addresses I've ever had to fill out.
No big deal otherwise.
Also, if you don't have a USPS account, you can ship via Paypal instead.
https://www.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_ship-now (bookmark it. As far as I know, no links exist to that page on the paypal site).
You can do a flat-rate package there without even weighing it.

Some military destinations will require a signed customs form.
If usps.com doesn't tell you, a clerk should be able to help. Once you know what's what, you should be able to use the APC, parcel size permitting of course.
