I am really enjoying my two BenQ 24" LCD monitors. They were perfectly calibrated out of the box, and side by side they offer acres of useable real estate.
Cheap, too: $702 each.

Hey you computer pros - get a better monitor, you deserve it.

When my Studio Display 21" CRT bit the dust; I bid CRTs good bye. That monitor cost me $1500 and barely made it past 3 years. I was planning on being able to use it at least 7 years.
My Viewsonic 22" LCD is doing just fine. I use a Spyder2 for color calibration. It isn't used for mission critical work but I am very happy with the printed results of my projects. To be honest; I just don't think I will be totally at peace until I get a 30" Cinema Display.

I like my 23" ACD very much. It's great for photography. But now that I have a 10mp camera I sometimes wish I had a 30". Vertical photos have to be viewed at a very small scale without a lot of scrolling.
My only issues with the ACD (in use since Feb. 06) are one hot pixel which I usually notice only in dark areas, and I get temporary "burn in" or ghosting from windows that stay in one place for a long time. Whether this is normal or not I don't know. I've set my screensaver to a pure white JPEG and that gets rid of it. This display gets 7+ hours of use each day.

I was recently at the office of a client, a big municipal agency. The graphic designers were working on 17-inch LCDs. Apparently that was what Purchasing specified as the one and only standard monitor.
