Treo 700p - Verizon - Alternatives?

A friend of mine came to my house with his Treo 700p. I live in a poor reception area, but my Verizon Motorola E815 does fine. Other carriers are worse than Verizon, unless something changed recently.

When the time comes, I want to switch to a smartphone. Which one would have the best reception?
