I'm seeing Pink Toilets! (bathroom advice requested)
#1
I'm not hallucinating. The old pink terlet's tank repair I did a few presidents ago, has finally given up the ghost, and now I must replace. I have lines on a couple of used, maybe free, potential pink pissoire replacements, and some questions:

1. How to transport it? Do you just stand the whole throne upright in the back of a station wagon, or could that end up cracking that replacement's tank? I know that new ones are shipped in 2 pcs. (them's heavy suckers all together, too)
1a. What's involved to separate the tank from the bowl?

2. I've noted that there are 10", 12", 14" versions of new facilities. Will it be critical to match the size of my old one? -It's tank goes right up against the wall.

2a. What are the chances of various old tanks fitting on my presently installed old bowl? (mine's an American Standard, labeled just "Standard")

1a. Stand in front of bowl lift with two hands at back of bowl. Don't lift by tank and bowl. Drain first or you'll get wet. You can then rest it on it's side in your car.

1b. Two bolts and a gasket. Try not to unless necessary.

2. 12" is most common. 10" and 14" are for screwed ups in the rough.

2a. Slim to none.

Best option is to go to HD and buy a new one.

Let to Toto raves begin...

I think the 10", 12" and 14" you are reffering to are the distance from the wall the drain hole has to be located ?
So yeah, if you don't want to also be playing with offset DWV or patching floor you'd want to match what you are taking out.

Pink ?
Really?

I think I could look at a $79.00 white toilet. :-)

Yeah, Pink. I know... But it has to match the big sink that sits about 4" from it.
So Home Depot's rose-tinted candidates are going to be ~$300.

Good to know it can safely be transported on its side -this assuming I can lift it...

True. to the center of that hole, as I remember.

We bought top of the line AS and Kohler last year. Both, pardon the pun, suck.
The AS is finicky to flush even just water, the Kohler intermittently runs. When they work both are great, but for new ........???? BS!

Get a Toto. Japanese improved version of what we use to make well.

That's crappy. I thought new would buy you something.
Toto in pink would probably be their limited ed Hello Kitty mdl, w/a price in dollars that looks like Yen.

When you're sitting on it you won't notice the color difference.

How much to replace the sink ?

Most pink (or baby blue, and I had one) had tile and numerous other items to match which meant a complete do over.

Course one buy white as needed and consider it a long term replacement project.
