My Netgear is growing more unreliable by the day...anybody with a recommendation for a new wireless -g or -n router under $50? Also, would an Airport Express offer me the same functionality, or do I have the technology understanding backward?
Oh and this is for my MacBook Core 2 Duo, early 2007...not sure if these can achieve 802.11n speeds...
Thanks,
Enrico

An AirPort Express can replace a router, but its 1 ethernet port can be a limiting factor in different set-ups.

The WRT54GL is a nice one
I picked up a Belkin G for $35 at BestBuy last week for a neighbor and installed it.
Not fancy but seems to work well enough and was a snap to set up.
Hasn't been in service long enough to see how it will hold up.

For my money, I would try to find an Apple base station on eBay, etc. I have the very first base station, going on, I think, 8 years with nary a problem. Easy to set up and maintain, and has been solid...

I'm very happy with Belkin "G"s. They're cheap and bulletproof, and can be converted to Access Points if you need to expand your coverage or add new devices on the other side of your house to the network.

I've heard good things about the WRT54GL but I've had such a headache with my BEFW11S4 locking up randomly, that I'm hesitant to every buy another linksys product.
