Easiest way to link up two Macs
#1
Firewire/Target disk mode or Ethernet/Fire sharing?

Not sure what the client wants to do exactly yet, so I thought I'd get a jump on it. FW/Target is easy enough, but I'm not sure if she want to sync or not. Will Apple's Sync allow you to set folders on one mac to another and sync up?

Any other apps, free or relatively cheap? It's been ages since I've had to set this up for someone.

Once they link two macs, they'll want to share printers, network connections, files, etc.. If they have broadband, they'll want to share, etc..

Set them up with a network with room for expansion, and they will never look back. Recommend a networked laser printer, etc. They'll love ya !

Oh, and if they are modern macs, they probably already have airport cards in them. You can theoretically network them that way.

Temporarily? FW Target Disk Mode.

Permanently? Ethernet switch/turn on file sharing.
