2.5 MBP from Amazon arrived yesterday...
#1
After UPS delivered I had to let it sit and warm up for a few hours due to the 13 degree temps yesterday. I let the battery fully charge and then got everything setup and updated. Very nice machine, quality build, seems very quick and peppy. Definitely seems I pulled the trigger at the right time - these are back up to $1550 again. http://forums.macresource.com/read.php?1...msg-630585

*One problem, every time I close the lid or power down, the next time I try to connect to the internet it fails. I have to run network diagnostics, re-enter my WEP key and then everything seems fine...until I shut down again??? I'm just wondering if it is due to the 10.5.6 update, or something I have overlooked on the router??? (10.5.6, linksys WR54TG)

I had the same problem with mine until I upgraded to the newest BaseStation. It was before 10.5.6, so I don't think that's the problem.

BTW, an Early 2008-Model-Leader to you! I've got one and think it's the best Mac I've ever owned.

Leader! Call Apple about the connection problem. After the holidays, there will be lots of incoming calls, so I'd do it ASAP.

try to go to the keichain access and DELETE both entries for the WEP/WAP2 key, one should be in "login" and one should be in "system" keichains.

it is important that you delete both. Then you will have to re-enter the WEP/WAP2 password. Both of these keys will be added back (and they should have the same creation date/time). At least this solved the same problem for me on an iBook, PowerBook and MacBook.

also, you should really be using WAP or WAP2, not WEP.

Doesn't sound like the same problem, but the connection on my new 2.4 MBP Penryn has been very flaky. Side-by-side with my old MacBook, it has been getting far slower download speeds, crappy Skype calls, dropping the connection, stalling AirTunes. Neither AC phone tech nor 24hrs with Genuises could figure anything out.
