Jamba Steel Cut Oatmeal
#1
S/O enjoys this very much for her daily breakfast and sometimes as a quick lunch. Is there such an item at a regular supermarket or health food one? TiA

No I read them, that's what made me curious, and drove me to go and buy some. Big mistake.

Sorry, I was researching while you were posting. I was addressing my comment to kap. Smile

What didn't you like about it? And how does the Costco oatmeal differ from Quaker? I like oatmeal, but I still have some to use up so haven't gone in search of any of the designer stuff yet.

AlphaDog, Costco sells big boxes of Quaker Oats--it's a great deal if you eat oatmeal for breakfast every day like I do, or make your own granola like I do. Nice and cheap, but if you don't use a lot of it it probably isn't worth it.

I don't understand the steel cut oats craze myself. It's good, but it's not spend-nine-times-longer-making-it good. Oatmeal is oatmeal, pretty much. I like the steel-cut stuff for making bread though.

. . .I believe the steel cut has been 'processed' (a.k.a. stripped of nutrients, fiber, etc) like the regular oatmeal. . .
