I'll miss them, too.

Congratulations. Wait at least a month before you tell anyone you don't like them.
I waited twelve years before I blew my first gasket. I should be good for a while.

Now that's just funny...I don't care what anyone says! I've had this name since "the old days." Do you really think I should change it now?

All the worrying I did, obsessing on what I would say when asked why I'm no longer with my old employer (long story short, I told my immediate supervisor that I didn't like her much)
Can you fill us in with the juicy details in how you you let her know that you didn't care for her?
The abbreviated version (as opposed to the short version versus the complete story) was that she was a crazed, demeaning, power hungry, control freak that repeatedly pushed my buttons. (My coworkers frequently asked me how I could work for her.) After two years of enduring her nonsense and watching everything I loved about my job get sucked away (part of the longer story), I had enough and, during a conversation where she was belittling and brushing me off yet again, I blurted out, "I hate this job and I don't like you much, either." After that, she didn't think I needed to work for her anymore. There was no place else in the company for me to go (They'd been downsizing for years.), so I was told they "want this to be your last day." They told the Employment Commission that I was fired for misconduct, so I had to "pass" a phone interview in order to receive Unemployment Compensation.

Is this the job at the booze processing plant, or the hooker testing factory? I know you were interested in both places, and that the hooker testing factory had a number of positions.
I'm testing the effects of booze on hookers. Would you be interested if something opens up?

Congrats on the new job and hold your tongue. Some time ago I too was canned by a team lead but fortunately picked up immediately by another team - same company - different separtment. Then - a few months later - ironically moved back to the first team. Strange thing was, my feelings about her hadn't changed (unqualified, useless waste of space) but she was sweet as honey when I returned. I outlasted her in the long run but the job later went to the Czech Republic and we all ended up losers.

I've officially outlived the Worst Boss I Have Ever Had ™. This loser was a case study in why getting an MBA does not automatically make you capable of managing human beings. And I held my tongue for 2 years.

He was the only boss I've ever fantasized about killing.

Sometimes staying in a job is the best revenge. That and making sure you get the goods on them so they get fired.

I've often wondered if these people have any clue as to what others are thinking of them. Perhaps not, or they wouldn't be such asses...
