Warner Bros. wants U.S. to get 'Primeval'
Warner Bros. is hoping a television series about British nasties can translate to box-office gold on these shores.
The studio has purchased the rights to ITV series"Primeval," and will set loose producers Akiva Goldsman and Kerry Foster on Americanizing it, according to Variety.
The original "Primeval," which airs on BBC America in the U.S., follows Douglas Henshall as leader of a team of scientists who investigate rifts in time. We should point out that said rifts often spit out prehistoric menaces and future-world monsters.
"There is a solid mythology to the series, but the movie has the dinosaur element of ‘Jurassic Park’ and the time travel element of ‘Lost,’ and it just feels like the kind of big movie that Warner Bros. does well," Foster told Variety.
Season three of "Primeval" begins airing May 16 on this side of the pond.
