I know that there are no American camera companies, but the tripod head and the nodal rail ARE made in the US (in CA).
I would buy stuff from the US if that was the last difference, but unfortunately, most stuff is not made in the US anymore.
There is at least 1......
Nope, they're gone: (from their front page)
Bender Photographic will be CLOSED from November 2008 until future notice. We have sold our buildings, ceased production, and will not be selling view cameras or other Bender Photographic items for at least a year, possibly longer. Please do not send orders for products as they WILL NOT BE FILLED. This applies to ALL Bender Photographic products, including pinhole cameras. If you currently own a Bender View Camera and need product support, please email us to see if we can get to the parts you may need.
I should have phrased it as "I know of no camera company that produces a camera that I want to buy that is an American company". I am sure that there are camera companies in the US, but I have been using Nikon or Canon for years and unless they pull up stakes and come to the US, my choice, unfortunately, will not be an American company.
On the other hand, there are good companies making products in the US that I will buy from (camera tripod head, for example). Once I get everything, I will take some pics of my new setup for the forum to see.
