Fooling websites as to where you are. How?
#1
I love watching F1 racing and here in the UK we can get it live with digital extras on the BBC. However there are a few people I know who are not in the UK and their own TV broadcasters don't have live coverage. The BBC has streaming live coverage on their website but it is only available to people in the UK but I know there is a way round it, trouble is I've forgotten. Some time back I couldn't access a US news site (US access only) for a particular item and was told a way to do it. It worked but I have no idea how.

So can anyone give me a nice simple guide that I can pass on to my US colleagues so that they can watch the races live with us? It seems that in the US only a few races in F1 are being done live this year. Some may be on Macs and some on PCs but mostly they will not be very computer savvy so bear that in mind please.

Proxy Server.

EDIT2: Not a simple guide, just a starting point. It has been discussed here before. STF

Proxy servers.

I don't have a guide but if you look it up you can probably learn more than I could tell you.

Edit: D'oh!

There are different levels of support. It takes some hunting to fool the sophisticated websites. I spent about 4 hours before I found a free site that had enough bandwidth and a good enough level of scripting support to play videos from the UK. It was not fast enough to stream. That usually costs money.

Thank you people, I did try a little search but didn't have the right keywords. Now I know about proxy servers the search becomes easier.
