AAA iPhone App
#1
If you're a member of AAA you're eligible for loads of discounts all over the US. The AAA Discount application uses the GPS in your phone to tell you what discounts are available nearby. I didn't realize that AAA provided a 20% discount on GeekSquad services. That makes them on ly twice what their service should cost. There are discounts for all kinds of weird things all over town. Stuff that I NEVER would have thought to ask for a AAA member discount on. Check it out:

Hey, I installed that last week. I haven't had a chance to use it though. If you spend most of the time sitting in your house, it's not much use. If on the road a lot, or visiting a lot of different regions of your own state, or different neighborhoods in your city, if it's a large city, it would be useful.

I use it with my 'Touch. You'll be shocked what's right around your house.

If you spend most of the time sitting around your house, why would you need AAA?

Hey, I've only had the app for a week! I haven't traveled this week, except to some picnics and BBQs at friends houses. Having said that, I don't get OUT as often as I'd like, out of town, etc. I've checked to see what cool stuff there is near my house (and I live in a dense, urban area) and there's only two locations, not much to get excited about. Hopefully more will show up.

Try zooming in or out a bit. It started out with just a few places near me, then a bunch more started showing up. I also turned off the 'Health' discounts because I don't really need them at the moment. I'm guessing that AAA and AARP have a lot of membership overlaps...
