riddle me this Mac'ers - odd drive behavior
#1
I have an older (2003) WD 120G ATA in a OWC Mercury Elite Pro-AL 400/USB2.0/1.1 box (2006).
I use with PT and have just formatted APM (no OS9) with 4 partitions.

With my MP and MBP it tends to take some time to mount, 1 minute or two.
They function just fine after that and with their usual speed and reliability.

I haven't a G4 or 5 to test on anymore. Anyone know of a reason for this?
Or am I looking at a enclosure or drive failure coming?
It gets little use, maybe a dozen times a year and I spin up a couple times a month.
No grinding or odd sounds.

I only get a little use and don't have any grinding sounds (though maybe a few odd sounds)..

but my drive is getting close to failing all the time.

In no particular order, coffee & dessert, and sleep for that.

You've checked the disk with the DU and there's no problem found?

'Probably a failing power supply. Slow to spin up the drive.

DU shows a happy drive.
Do you mean the ps in the enclosure or the drive itself?
