A friend's daughter frequently absconds with his wife's A570.
The wife is not really photo-savvy but like the A570. It's available but a little pricey, methinks.
I'm looking for a replacement that I can get from Amazon proper via Next Day or Two Day shipping (I'm a Primer).
What is in the ballpark?

I bought an A590 about a month ago, and have been very happy with it. However, they have been discontinued and are hard to find. I tried an A1000, but wasn't that impressed - the one I tried seemed to have a lot of noise, and was a little too small for me to grip comfortably.

yeah, snag a refurb 570 or 590. My Canon Rebel XTi was a canon refurb from Adorama, an other than the packaging, it looked brand new.
I have a 570is that is my cargo shorts pants pocket camera.
