Around here pet food and bird feeders can attract bears, sometimes grizzlies.

Raccoons are the friend of the walkin' dude, just like rats and other vermin...

The last place I lived, there was an untrimmed palm tree in my neighbors yard with a whole brood of them living at the top. The used to come down at night and play their coon games in my backyard.
