Noticed that some PC laptops have an i7 processor in them?
#1
Is the i7 processor a step up from the Core 2 Duo?

In other words, are Apple's laptops falling behind?

I'm not so much dogging Apple, as suggesting some new things to come, such as the i7 and a gig video card as starters... Something to look forward to.

They were on top of things with the C2D, but since then they've lagged some. I'm pretty sure Clarksfield laptops have been out for about three months.

I'd bet that the MBPs will soon be upgraded and this may be the processor. The current MB are better equipped than is the 13" MBP; update due.

I can't imagine battery life is all that good with a power sucking i7. The lowest rated one I've seen is 130 watts, just for the CPU. MBP power supplies are only rated at 90! Hopefully there is a low power i7 for portables.

Maximum TDP (Thermal Design Power) – 55W (i7-920XM), 45W (i7-820QM and i7-720QM)
