Next time, just buy from a reputable vendor. You'll pay more than on eBay, but way less than Apple. Provantage, for example, has AppleCare for a MBP for about $70 bucks less than Apple.

When businesses purchase large quantities of AppleCare warranties, they usually get one boxed copy and the rest are just printed registration codes.
Those numbers are legit. It's just hard to distinguish them from numbers that come from a keygen.

Personally, I buy AppleCare only in the box from eBay sellers and as a general rule I only buy from U.S. sellers with good ratings who have been selling for more than 2 years.
