HALLELUJAH--Found OS X Client for godawful PC Software
#1
I've been struggling with trying to find a way to use my telecommute privileges with the horrendus PC software I have to use at work.

Turns out that they have an OS X client--well, actually Citrix does, the vendor sucks--which I downloaded today, and it works perfectly!

No more RealPC, no more VirtualPC, no need to buy a Mini--I'M A FREE MAN TONIGHT! Hallelujah!

And thanks for all the advice along the way--and the fish.

Citrix is pretty sweet. Good way to get PC apps running through Mac OS X in an entrprise environment. Too bad it comes at an enterprise-only cost...

Silencio-

Long story short-I'm working with an online database that has millions of documents in it, and the service provider went bankrupt last year, hasn't updated the UI of the actual database program in 10 YEARS according to their support people, and the newest Citrix client they had was for OS 9!

I Googled Citrix, downloaded the OS X Citrix client, and it turns out that the script the service provider uses to log in clients works with the OS X client!

HALLELUJAH--I was actually able to put in an hour of billable work from home last night, and can put in a couple of hours this weekend! YOWZAH!

A big piece of it is that my employer has an on-site policy of no streaming media. Working at home, I can listen to anything I want to, which is wonderful.

As far as I can tell, Citrix is great. Our service provider, not so much....
