no TMobil signal at my house
#1
I used a Tmobil pre-paid for the past N years and usualy $30-40 will last me a good year. I do not need nor want a contract

Now there is no signal here. Maybe this is even better, since I don't want to use the cell phone when I am home. But last week then verizon fukced up the landline and I had no cell signal and no internet I felt bery 19th century. Maybe I should get another cell phone with signal here, I know ATT has good signal, maybe Sprint also has good signal (I refuse to give Verizon any more $ than I have to).

what would you recommend for someone using ~30 minutes per month on a cell phone? Virgin Mobile? ATT Prepaid?

Tracfone or Net 10.

Be sure to turn the phone off and back on again, to see if it picks up the signal then. My T-mobile prepaid phone occasionally loses the signal at home and I have to do that.

Maybe another phone brand that works on Tmobil? Or

As rgG said, try Tracfone or Net10. We have/had various prepaid phones and there were quite a few places where the Tracfone/Net10 phones had good service but Tmobil had none at all. For some reason, my son's college campus in Tennessee has a total "cone of Tmobil silence" around it, although reception is fine at the town nearby (well, 7 miles away).

T-Mobile, which I use, works best close to Interstate Highways and large cities. It has lots of dead spots elsewhere. And out in the country, forget it.

But the prepaid service is cheap, and there is no extra charge every day you use it (watch out for that in the AT&T fine print).

Isn't TMobil a gas station?
