Can't remember if this was posted yet.
Washington Post: Steve Jobs and the idea of letting go. How many times have some of us here lamented this or that technological loss? A scrapped feature we relied upon. An abandoned idea we thought was great. We don't like some decisions Apple makes and can never love them all. It's impossible, unrealistic and childish. And pointless. The memorial linked to above makes a strong case for the bigger process behind all of that, whereby an atmosphere was dreamed, demanded and created with a relentless message of moving forward often without regard to the past's advantages. It's not a concept many will ever accept. "Skating to where the puck is going to be."

to me, Steve is another great example of the power
of human get-up-and-go adversity and persistence. i would like to think his life and drive to live his life to the fullest despite the mistakes, failures and downturns inspires us all and is something i think everybody can relate to on some level. RIP Steve

I'll never forget the glare that seemed to say, "I can do this if I want to," like he was a kid with his hand in the cookie jar, only he owned the kitchen.

This version is both his legacy and his epitaph. Leave it to Mr. Jobs to be elegant, and eloquent, to the end.

Apple gave me my first computer experience 31 years ago, our second family computer (after a C-64), my first and all subsequent computers, and my job (indirectly, as I'm a Mac support-monkey). Never mind the iPods, iPhones, and Pixar DVDs littering the house.
