The Tea Party really helped drive the debate in Washington for the past 2 years: just look at all of the talk about immigration crackdowns, challenges to the new healthcare law and bombast and threats re: federal spending. However, the Tea Party platform was helped by their direct involvement in getting their members elected. Will OWS eventually endorse candidates? Is it too early to tell? All I know is that they are bringing issues to the forefront that have generally been ignored by politicians, corporations and the MSM like a just economic system, the corrupting power of money in the political process and a general frustration with a public-private industrial complex that puts shareholders before citizens.

When I was discussing this with a friend of mine today, he referenced President Eisenhower's fear of the "military-industrial complex" and wrote back:
thinks the government runs the government & therefore it is the government that should be protested. Obama faces the same "establishment" Eisenhower, with all his prestige, couldn't budge, but it's much more intractable now.

It appears to be a pretty spontaneous and amorphous event

“While it is (intentionally) unclear for how long or how much unions have been involved in planning, supporting and funding the current Wall Street protests, there is little doubt that their fingerprints are on it either directly or through front organizations,” says Phillip Wilson, president of the Labor Relations Institute. “What we know for certain is unions will now be openly providing the organizing and financial support a large sustained protest needs.”

The labor relations institute (quoted above) is a consulting firm that teaches companies how to keep unions out and that lobbies against labor. They get paid to make statements such as the one above, whether they facts to back them up or not.

OK, here is another proof that the crowds are "spontaneous and amorphous event". Tried to make those signs on my laserjet but didn't come out right.

Yeah, very "spontaneous". Get real. They don't have lunch money. They are not going to fork over $ for stupid signs that they don't even know what is on them. You want home grown?

So, is it disorganized or organized? Pick a lane and stay in it, Dakota.

Rush informed his audience today that the protests are highly organized and planned in advance by Obama himself. Obama's plan is to target Wall Street, because he believes Romney will be his opponent next year so he wants to associate him negatively with Wall Street. Oh, and the signs and sleeping bags and sandwiches have all been supplied with Soros money, of course.

I think the Wall Street photo is actually 'shopped to add what looks like expensive pre-printed signs. In the undoctored photo, they're all in Sharpie and say ZERO TAXES.
