Since you folks like to gamble, I'll bet anyone here, any amount, that NO ONE that is registered on the forum as of today will win the Mega Millions Lottery tonight.

C'mon gamblers!! Bet me!!!
You're getting off on the wrong foot right from the get go, and crash and burn from there.

As likely everyone here realizes, the lottery is gambling by definition, but 99.999...% daydream in practice. You're looking at pipe dreamers having a little fun but think you're seeing a gaggle of dime store gamblers clutching lucky rabbit feet. So, so wrong.

If you take it as a lump sum you get $462 million and after the feds take their cut it's down to $367 million. So you would have to make some economies. You could only spend $20,102.98 per day for 50 years.

If I win I'm sending Rick-O to Cuba to bring y'all back some wonderful celebratory cigars.

So how much would a one-winner pot net someone for a lump-sum payment, after taxes?

50% or less if you take the lump sum? 50% of that, or less, after taxes?

Mysterious "accident" claims life/lives of winner(s) of billion-dollar jackpot?

640 million would be enough for me. If you never invested it or got any interest, you could still spend $35,000 dollars a day for 50 years.

That's one of these...

...every day!

Why would I want over 18,000 of those?
