Marketing Lesson: Fastest way to lose ALL your customers Right NOW !!!
#11
I had a similar problem with my Toyota dealer.

They texted me and emailed me (how'd they get my email address?), they signed me up for appointments that I never asked for and I received automated calls with satisfaction surveys for services never performed or performed months ago.

I called them a half dozen times before it was resolved. The first few people I spoke to told me that they didn't know how or why I was receiving this barrage.

The last person I spoke to about it was the service team leader. He told me that Toyota was taking the service and finance databases, subscribing everyone to this kind of stuff and putting the dealers' names on it as a "courtesy" to the dealers. He solved the problem by putting fake info on the computer for my primary phone number and email address and he moved my cellphone number into the comments field.

My solution was to never memorize my cell number so I don't automatically give it out to anyone. Never a business.

How do they let you know when your car has been services and is ready to be picked up?
