Asking for a friend: How to sell her US Cellular Galaxy Tab S

I have a friend who just upgraded her phone (US Cellular) and along with it got a "free" Galaxy Tab S tablet (4G LTE + WiFi). She's wanting to sell the tablet because she doesn't need or want it. So she's enlisted me to help her sell it (eBay, etc) but here's the question: If it's in her name, CAN she sell it to someone else? Would they need to take over her tablet contract? Or would the other person just need to get their own SIM card from US Cellular? I’m confused as to how someone else would buy it from her and then put it in their name? Does that make sense?

Wait, does your friend have a plan with the tablet? If so, she needs to cancel the plan. Unless the device is being subsidized by the plan, then it gets tricky.

I believe she has a plan with the tablet. Well now I'm not sure - i'm waiting to hear back from her. She got the tablet free after upgrading her phone.
