The foamers will be heatin' up the web and airwaves tonight! http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/wireStory...l-22688951

"My agenda is to sign into law legislation that advances Arizona," Brewer said at a news conference. "I call them like I seem them despite the tears or the boos from the crowd."
(yeah, sure, Bull Dyke Brewer)

After the NFL made noise about pulling the Super Bowl, the veto was a pretty sure thing.

Well done Gov. Brewer.

MLB got in the act too. Seattle Mariners came out with this just before the veto was announced :

The Seattle Mariners have enjoyed 37 years of spring training in Arizona. Our fans flock to Peoria for baseball in March, and have always been made to feel welcome by the businesses and good people of Arizona. This should apply to all of our fans. The Mariners respect and value diversity. We welcome fans of all races, colors, religious beliefs, nationalities, ages, and sexual orientations. We believe that intolerance has no place in our game or society. Unfortunately, Senate Bill 1062 sends a message that not everyone is welcome. We hope Governor Brewer will reject that message."

In the current business climate Brewer had no choice, and that's a good thing. Also heard a wedding planner in Arizona very upset over this, since 90% of her weddings are destination events for out of state couples, and those people were simply going to stop showing up.

Wondering if the NFL will do something about the climate in its locker rooms now? Especially since they have their first openly gay draft pick this season.

Easy to confuse texas and Arizona in the news this week regarding gay civil rights. Because in addtion to Brewer vetoing Arizona's discrimination bill, Texas also has this happen:

The Texas event is far more significant, IMO.

AUSTIN — Texas became the biggest conservative state to have its gay marriage ban declared unconstitutional by a federal judge Wednesday, though he held his ruling in abeyance so higher-ranking jurists, possibly even the U.S. Supreme Court, can weigh in.
