I can see so many reasons to get an Apple Watch. Most of them revolve around checking the time and texts at work without yanking my iPhone out of my pocket. problem is the dress code doesn't allow watches - most jurisdictions have food service health codes that disallow watches, bracelets, rings and such. But if I can't use the Apple Watch at work I have a hard time convincing myself I should get one. Far be it from Moi to frivilously spend money on myself!
BUT, since the watch bands are interchangeable maybe someone will come up with a band that I can wear on my upper arm while at work. I'm thinking something like the workout sport bands they have for phones. anyone seen/heard of this kind of third party option?

Don't know, but I actually think that seems brilliant.

If not specifically armbands, some third party manufacturers may make longer band that might fit.
There's a video on YouTube of a guy with 210mm wrists showing that Apple's selection are generally too small for him.

Is there a blue moon up in the sky? I agree with silvarios on this one.
If there isn't an Apple Watch Armband already, you have a million dollar idea. (tu)

Until you have to pay royalties to Apple to use their patented watch strap connector....
Probably better to have a case/armband that encircles the watch but doesn't use the proprietary connector.

I wonder if that will actually be a consideration.
Apple would [ not ] want the designs of the bands themselves copied, but the band to watch bit might not be a problem.
Being able to buy third party bands might be a tacit selling point.
After all, the new MB uses an industry standard albeit not yet widely used connector.

Eventually, perhaps. How long did Apple make third-party cable manufacturers wait before they licensed the "genuine" technology for lightning connectors?

There "Will" be bands. Even for the 210mm wrist-ed fella.
