What do you guys think of this 11" MBA for $730?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Apple-11-6-MacBo...rmvSB=true

Broadwell 1.6 i5/4G/128G

The seller has a 99.1% rating, and is showing the list price as $999, but I think the last price was $899.

This would be an upgrade for someone who's currently using the original 11" MBA.

Deal, no deal?

Best Buy has MacBook Air models starting at $800, sometimes with an edu email they run an extra $50+ off that price. I'd say no deal if Best Buy is running the current deal and your friend has an edu email account. Think the current discount is $50 off, so $750 plus tax.

Meh. No mention of AppleCare.

If that is indeed the model you want seems like a fine way to buy it. $899 on the apple site so, $170 off.

Refurb.me is showing that apple had refurb stock as of 20 hours ago, now gone, at $760. https://www.refurb.me/us/notebook/macbook_air/FJVM2

Personally I'd probably get a model with 256ssd

So would I.

But she's had that MBA since shortly after it came out, and she's been living with a it's 60G HD. Her budget is tight, so if she can't swing 256G, this would still be a big jump.

Thanks for the advice, guys.

I've seen good $799 deals around. This one seems ok, not a RYF.

I told her as much when this rolled 'round a few weeks ago.

But my concern was for the sellers 99.1% seller rating. On the face, that seems high, but somethings 99 and a half just won't do.

And I don't remember that MBA every being $999. So it just gave me a little pause.
