And 2-day shipping is really kinda 3-day. I placed an order with Prime this morning (Monday) at 9am. Scheduled delivery date is Thursday. How is that 2 days?!

Oh the horror.
I pay $100 a year for 2-day shipping with Amazon Prime. 2-day shipping is a service I paid for. I expect it on Wednesday. If you rather be meek about it and accept 50% longer delivery time that's your prerogative.

This. ^^^

Also, I have noticed that while an item takes 2 days to ship, it is in processing or waiting to be fulfilled or something sometimes. Some things I've ordered are indeed Amazon Prime worthy, but there is a little disclaimer that states I will get two day shipping AS SOON AS IT SHIPS. Maybe it requires more processing or maybe it's just Amazon trying to get around my free two day shipping.

Anecdotally, I have observed that AMZN is slowly ratcheting down the speed of free prime delivery up here in AK - as I'm sure we're not always the cheapest place to send stuff - in what I surmise is an effort to get people to pay more for the 2-day or overnight options.

I didn't know Amazon shipped outside the USA.

2-day has really been 3-day (or more) for a while now. At least a year for me. I understand they need to be profitable and all that...they should just call it 3ish-day and be done with it.

Not for me. I sometimes still get my 2-day shipments in a day.

The benefit of having 3 Amazon warehouses in SoCal.

My last two orders were eligible for free same day delivery. Ordered in the morning and had my stuff that evening.

I get everything really fast from Amazon. Don't know if it's because I live near a fulfillment center or if I'm just incredibly lucky when it comes to Amazon, but I have zero complaints about their service. At all.
