He was my first "celeb" interview as a journalism student in '74 or '75. He was adorable. And he asked me if I had any spare weed.

His wife died in 2011. They were married 70 years.

I saw him in little clubs in Greenwhich Village back when...

He had a sweet way about his humor. Funny guy.

I hadn't thought about him for years. Another life, another time.
