Tillerson calls 45 a moron

Tillerson hasn’t denied saying it. he deflected the question. in this day and age there’s a good chance there is a recording of it on someone’s phone just waiting for him to deny it.

My opinion of Tillerson just went up. 'Course since it started out below zero . . .

I'm not sure my opinion went up. If he did call Trump a moron (and I suspect it's probably true), denying it and singing his praises now sounds a lot like desperate bootlicking.

Edit: Reading the coverage, I see that Tillerson pointedly refused to deny calling him a moron (and another reporter said the actual phrase he used to describe Trump was " moron")

So, yeah. My boss is a f-in moron. But I'm not ready to give up on my job yet.

My opinion on Tillerson hasn't changed a bit - you don't get to the top position of the biggest company in the world by being an idiot. And any idiot can see that Trump is a moron!

Highly decorated career foreign service officer Eric Edelman, today:

“The press appearance was the most humiliating, degrading performance by a secretary of state that I have seen in my lifetime. He was clearly ordered by the White House to go out and lavish slavish praise on the president.”

This guy served under Bush 2 and was an advisor to Romney during his run.

Personally, I'm now in the awkward position of having a teeny tiny glimmer of respect for Rex Tillerson that I didn't have before.

You'd think that the cowardice and ass-licking that led to that press-conference would more than offset it, but no.

Teeny tiny glimmer.

Still there.

I'm not sure what to do with this feeling.

It's making me very uncomfortable.

He's been at odds with Trump since his confirmation hearings where he acknowledged climate change.

I think he's the least powerful SoS in a generation since Trump doesn't mind undercutting him.
