Meet the Press

They've given up pretending.

The entire thing this weekend is on the madness of "King of Israel" Drumpf.

Even the republicans they brought on to try and balance things.

Just one guy tried to defend Drumpf, claiming that it's all part of a subtle plan and pointing to the "Art of the Deal" book (which the real author has identified as a work of fiction) as proof that Drumpf is actually a brilliant dealer. Didn't even sound like that guy bought his own weak argument.

Where's the will to invoke 25th Amendment?

Reliable Sources on CNN had a doctor on this Sunday with a very savvy take on this issue to address those concerned about professionals, both journalists and therapists, skittish about “diagnosing” Trump from afar.

She stresses that the paramount issue at hand right now is not labeling his actions, but addressing them from the professional point of view of is his behavior at a point, or heading to a point, where it is so dysfunctional that it potentially threatens harm to those within his sphere of influence? Effectively, should he still be ‘piloting this plane’ or does the available evidence point towards further consideration, with no assumptions one way or the other, of possible further action?

Eg, when ‘All the doctors were really anxious to meet me.’ Becomes a non-hyperbolic, "Not only did they meet with me, they were pouring out of the room. The doctors were coming out of the operating rooms. There were hundreds and hundreds of people all over the floor. You couldn’t even walk on it.", it is not unreasonable to take notice.

Nothing will happen with the 25th as long as Pres. Trump can use the nuke codes. He could simply destroy most life on earth.

Here’s how that would (not) work. CNN

“"The President by himself cannot press a button and cause missiles to fly. He can only give an authenticated order which others would follow and then missiles would fly," Dr. Peter Feaver, a professor of public policy and political science at Duke University, told congressional lawmakers last year.

"The system is not a button that the President can accidentally lean on against the desk and immediately cause missiles to fly as some people in the public, I think, fear it would be," Feaver testified.

He added that the decision to launch a strike requires the President to work with military aides possessing the materials he needs to order an attack, as well as personnel at all levels, from top commanders all the way down to service members working in the missile silos.”

“... Much of the nuclear launch process is classified but [retired Air Force General Robert] Kehler, who previously served as the commander of US Strategic Command under President Barack Obama, explained that there are layers of safeguards within the current system designed to ensure any order is both legal and proportionally appropriate.

"This is a system controlled by human beings ... nothing happens automatically," he said, adding that the US military does not blindly follow orders and a presidential order to employ nuclear weapons must be legal.

Pres. Trump would have no qualms about ordering the nuking of NYC (as depicted in the movie) whether Melania was there or not. If she were, that might even be more of an incentive.

So hopefully that means the movie WarGames as well as SkyNet from The Terminator are not a thing.

He wouldn’t stay the carrier of the football if he’d said anything else (And of course he’s only one person in the chain).
