New Day! New Lawyers!
#11
The new ones will stick to the Party line, that it’s “unconstitutional” just as Turley previewed for the senators’ luncheon the other day. There will be “lots of questions” about legality and how wrong it is for any of them to be wasting time on this. It’ll be a shameful display of partisanship by Democrats. It’ll be a travesty to God or whatever.

And once again they’ll argue process since once again they cannot defend the indefensible.

This is why votes matter, because today’s Republicans are so very far removed from anything resembling having a moral nor ethical compass.

They have an excellent compass. It points at cash and power.

I'm kinda proud of the South Carolina based team that quit. These are normal people with good professional reps, how Lindsey talked them into taking that gig in the first place is a mystery. They'd clearly been led to believe the client would take their advice.

Which is curious, given that Trump’s reputation is only that of being a horrible client. I’m sure “This time he’ll be different” was heard more than once.

Susan Collins told them that.

Donald Trump is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

So, how long do you think these lawyers will last? This is the kind of thing that an office pool could be based on.

The big difference is Curly was playing a character for comedic effect.

All they have to do is argue everything the Democrats do or say = un-Constitutional and wait for the vote count. They won’t be any more compelled to stay on topic than they were during the first impeachment. More Kabuki theater is on tap, not an actual trial.
