And 2 TB at $170 -- st/deal.
Less than I paid for my Inland Pro TLC just a week ago. I guessed out loud prices might be dropping... maybe they are.

Based on a pic on Sabrent's website, it's double sided. You'd need an
enclosure designed for doubles (heatsinks?).
It may fit the Wavlink & OWC Envoy Express but I'd be concerned with
proper heat dispersion.

g= , I had a USB-C 3.1G2 4TB HDD (self powered) connected direct to
M1 Mini did a disconnect yesterday. It uses a VIA Labs chipset @ 5Gbps.
Swapped cables, USB-C to USB-A. Connected to USB-A on TB Dock with
no issues (knock on wood).
Cables do go bad. Rare but it happens.
edit: your Wavlink USB-C uses the Realtek RTL9210B, so that shouldn't be the issue.

Gabester,
Unlikely to be an issue with the SSD. Most certainly can be an issue with the enclosure, the cable or a combination of the two. Try replacing the cable. Or, depending on the cost of a replacement cable, just replace the box with a higher quality model. It'll include a new cable with it.
JDC and I are both using this box with NVME SSDs:
Rock solid reliable. I have this in service for nearly 3 years now:
Boot drive for my home iMac.
Have this one as a clone of my office's externall SSD boot drive:
Rock solid. The light is an annoying unnecessary nuisance but the box itself is solid.
Had issues with Orico and a defective enclosure. Wouldn't go near them for another box.

RM is correct I use that box as my daily boot with an XPS 8200 pro.
My new external is TBolt, Sabrent with a pair of 2 TB inland Pros setup in a RAID 0.

Any deals on a 2TB but old fashioned SSD? Thinking of replacing the disk in my old NAS.

Not really. Maybe $175. 2.5" SSDs use more outer plastic and need bigger packaging. more cost.
Thinking the "network" is the biggest limitation in a NAS, not the drive? Unless its a single disc NAS. Lots of options if you don't need a true NAS.
