It's going to be an anti-lib fest. Trump will give them plenty of red meat - including slams against Biden. But is rallying around hating the libs and trying to stop them dirty socialists from doing their dirty deeds enough to keep the Republican Party together? If Trump uses CPAC to also attack his "enemies" within the Party - like McConnell now - then he could unravel the anti-lib unity. It'll be interesting to see what way he goes.

And Pence will NOT be there. Maybe that noose that the last crowd of "supporters" brought has turned him off.

https://www.cnn.com/2021/02/20/politics/...index.html

(CNN) Former President Donald Trump will speak at the Conservative Political Action Conference in Orlando, Florida, next Sunday, according to a source familiar with the matter, while former Vice President Mike Pence declined an invitation to speak at the conference, two sources told CNN.
One source said organizers still hope to change Pence's mind about attending, while another source said Pence is planning to stay under the radar for the next six months. Politico first reported that Pence declined the invitation.
The divergence between the two former leaders, which comes as the GOP is grappling with its future in the wake of the Trump presidency, follows tensions between Trump and Pence surrounding the January 6 riot at the US Capitol and Pence's role certifying the results of the election for President Joe Biden.
"We accept Joe Biden is the duly elected president of the United States," former Pence chief of staff Marc Short told CNN's Pamela Brown on "Newsroom" Saturday evening, despite Pence playing a role in perpetuating baseless election fraud theories that Trump repeatedly pushed ahead of the attack on the Capitol.

Unlike Trump, Pence attended Biden's inauguration in Washington, DC, last month -- after skipping Trump's farewell ceremony.
Short said Saturday that Trump and Pence "departed amicably" and that they've spoken since.

I don't have the ambition to look for it at this hour, but I know I've seen an older video of Trump claiming himself to be a Democrat.

He used to like Hillary and Bill Clinton a lot.

CPAC has always been Trump territory. They have no higher purpose other than listening to someone roast those libs!

Wouldn't surprise me if true. Some of the closet types are so angry with themselves that they go full tilt against't their own interests.

Not quite related, but I didn’t understand (until tonight) that the Lincoln Project guy that got in trouble for sending inappropriate sexts was sending these to guys.

Still inappropriate, obviously - just always surprises me a bit to see G/L folks in the GOP, considering their history.

Fiscal policy is more important to some than social policy. Now that the myth of GOP financial responsibility has been shattered, expect that sliver of voters to detach. My gay CPA brother was a GOP voter until Trump came along, now he's a full blown NeverTrumper. That doesn't equate with becoming a Dem but does mean he no longer votes GQP down ballot.
