Follow Up to the School Board Hot Mike thread

I mentioned that I could not let it go and sent off a letter to The San Francisco Chronicle.
Actually did get a response.

Good morning!
Thank you for contacting the San Francisco Chronicle. Please accept our
apology for the error.
Your feedback is important to us and your comments have been shared with
the Editorial Department.
Thank you for reading the San Francisco Chronicle.

Sincerely,

XXXXXXXX
San Francisco Chronicle.

Sorry, can't let this go,
"...hot mike moment.."
Feb 20, 2021 headline
Looks like you need some proof readers, or journalists, not bloggers.
Total amateur headline, even people not in the the newspaper business knows it's not 'mike'.

Surprised I received a response, couldn't be the only one who said something, could I?

It's also not "Tour"... it's "Your"...
Unless that was a little transcription error (which I don't begrudge.. after all, this is a forum, not a newspaper!).

Yes, thanks for this again. In my "Hot Mike" days, I caused a lot of outrage and resignation.

Looks like a pretty canned, generic response, but you gotta love the typo in the response! Maybe they were personalizing it for you!

That was me, typing too fast in low light.

"Mike" is the original term, older by decades. Makes more sense, too. Mic should rhyme with Bic and bric and fic and hic and NIC and pic and Ric and sic and tic and WIC.

Yes, that's correct.

I was there, before the dictionary.

I'd say it was a Much ado... canned response.
