Is Thomas so hard up that he needs to be taking all these undisclosed gifts from Republican billionaires? Maybe he should post a Gofundme.
SCOTUS justice gets $274,200 a year.
Nothing to sneeze at but not as much as they could make in the private sector.
Renting busses to bring insurrectionists to the capitol isn't cheap!

If impeached, he would dry his tears with the money he makes from the best seller he writes about how he was wronged by a high-tech lynching.

From the net worth reports jonny linked, he is taking in nearly a million a year in royalties. He has other sources of income that amount to another million. Overall net worth about $32 million. His wife has a net worth of $80 million. How much they could have made of that without their connections to SCOTUS I hav no idea how to estimate.

Fine by me as long as he's out of the SCOTUS. But sadly, although he deserves it, he won't be impeached, at least not anytime in the next few years.

Sic the tax man on him…he owes major bucks for all that stuff…
An astute comment.
Harlan Crow and Clarence Thomas Are About to Learn About Gift Taxes
…But what about Crow’s judgment? Did he file gift tax returns and pay gift taxes on any of the gifts he provided to the Thomas family?
It is a reasonable question to ask, and Sen. Ron Wyden (D-OR) appears to have formally done so, with a reported due date of a response May 8. In lieu of gift taxes, did Crow expense the value of the trips and tuition provided the Thomases on either personal or business income tax returns?
If Crow took business expense deductions for the above referenced “gifts,” then he can’t claim they were gifts.
… but…
Now, if Crow did take business deductions for the value of the luxury vacations provided to the Thomases, he would have opened up another can of worms for himself tax-wise. That’s because Crow has publicly stated he did not discuss any business before the court with Justice Thomas.
If that is true, then it is possible that Crow falsified his income tax returns by expensing the cost of the vacation provided the Thomases…
These justices are taking amounts waaaay over gift tax limits. Unless they paid gift taxes (spoiler: almost certainly not), there’s illegal financial hanky-panky going on.

KellyAnne responds to why she helped funnel $25K from a Republican activist to the wife of Clarence Thomas:
The Washington Post reported Thursday that legal activist Leonard Leo instructed Conway, then a GOP pollster, to “give” Ginni Thomas “another $25K” in January 2012, emphasizing that there should be “no mention of Ginni, of course” in the paperwork.
“ had worked with the Heritage Foundation. She was part of the grassroots, is part of the grassroots. She had worked in the Reagan administration,” Conway told Fox News. “This is a serious person who for years had worked in public policy.”
I think it’s sad but funny that a Supreme Court justice’s wife, recipient of wingnut welfare from Heritage, who worked in the Reagan administration is aw, shucks, just “part of the grassroots”.
:RollingEyesSmiley5:
“And at the Polling Company, we did public opinion research and data analytics,” she added. “We had no business before the court.”
No, you were just the conduit for the guy who did do business before the court and worked ceaselessly to move that court to the right through any means possible.
It’s basically the political version of money laundering to pay off a judge on the highest court of the land. And everyone (including Conway) knew it, and tried to conceal it.

Any subsequent taxes and penalties levied will simply be paid by the current benefactor. A DOJ headed by Merrick Garland (or any other Attorney General of recent memory) will never haul a SCOTUS justice before a grand Jury.
