Doctor sent an Rx for Paxlovid.
We have a high deductible plan, pharmacist said the cost was $1400.
They also said we should apply at https://paxlovid.iassist.com
I did that, I said that I do have medical insurance (they did not ask for any details if it's a high deductible or not). More questions if we receive any Medicare or Medicaid, which we do not.
I got a card. Back to Pharmacy, cost is $0.
I don't complain.
Lucky timing!

According to HHS, through the end of 2024, people who are uninsured and those who have Medicare or Medicaid coverage will continue to be able to get Paxlovid for free through a patient assistance program set up by Pfizer...
But I DO HAVE insurance, although a high deductible plan.
And I do not have Medicare or Medicaid.
Why did they give me the discount? :dunno:
Top of the page from my link...
Pfizer will have an assistance program for people who are uninsured or underinsured...

DAMNIT! Just tested positive for Covid 19 again!
been feeling really crappy for the last few days and there was no single symptom I could put a finger on so decided to test and it came up positive.
I went to an event at the girls school last thursday night with thousands of people in attendance. That's my best guess as to where I was exposed.
Have a televisit scheduled with the doctor for TOMORROW at 3:15

It’s endemic by now. Best option is to vaccinate early and often. Good luck, I hope your case is very mild. Try Paxlovid.

Can't do Pax due to other medications that I take for a heart stent.
Dr said just ride it out with tylenol and OTC Cold/Flu stuff unless symptoms get worse.
He also said infections are on the rise locally...

I thought I probably had it, but the test I took today was negative. This same routine (probably have it--nope, I don't) has played out several times. I thought it was Covid because of the way my nose felt when symptoms were begining the first time.
AFAIK, I've still only had it once. That was the original strain in late February of 2021.

White House embraces lab leak as ‘true’ pandemic origin, axes covid website
https://wapo.st/3YC5NzS
The White House on Friday launched a website deeming a laboratory leak as the “true” origin of the coronavirus, embracing a theory that has become a popular explanation for a pandemic that has killed more than 1 million Americans but remains divisive in the intelligence community and is opposed by many virologists.
The new website, which features an image of President Donald Trump striding between the words “Lab Leak,” appears to draw entirely upon a report overseen by House Republicans last year that concluded the outbreak began with a lab leak in China. The White House site also echoes the report’s allegations that Anthony S. Fauci, a former senior National Institutes of Health official who became a target of Trump’s ire, “prompted” scientists to instead focus on a possible “natural” explanation for the outbreak that included a potential virus spreading to humans from a Wuhan market where wild animals were sold.
“By nearly all measures of science, if there was evidence of a natural origin it would have already surfaced. But it hasn’t,” the White House website reads, encouraging visitors to download the embedded House Republicans’ report.

The Trump administration’s new lab-leak website also replaced a five-year-old webpage, Covid.gov, that was first set up to share resources and information for Americans on how to fight the virus, including how to access free coronavirus tests, seek treatment or how to stay up to date on vaccination to “protect you and your loved ones.” It also highlighted resources for those suffering from long covid.
Amesh Adalja, an infectious-disease physician and senior scholar at the Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security, criticized the White House for removing public health information from a website in favor of a page intended to “score partisan points.” He also said that the origin of the pandemic remains an open question and that he is open to both the lab-leak and natural origin theories.
“The Trump administration is rewriting some of history and making covid-19 out to be a political event rather than a biological event that happened,” Adalja said.

That is total B.S.
Well, at least we have definitive proof that there was no lab-leak origin.
Can we put it to rest now that Drumpf has embraced it?
