Wonky Word Editing on MDD w/ OWC 9600 video...
#1
MDD w/ OWC mod'ed Radeon 9600 trying to cross edit a pair of Word docs, w/ one doc on each screen; one screen LCD, other CRT. Doc on CRT screen previously edited w/ Track Changes tumed on, doc on LCD plain vanilla. For some reason, which I'm hoping someone here will supply the answer to, the Track Changes doc doesn't scroll properly on the CRT; either the bottom goes blank, or redraws multiple copies of the last couple of lines as the doc scrolls up (vice-versa from top if scrolling down), yet behaves fine on the LCD. The plain vanilla doc works fine on either monitor, so I'm having a tough time identifying the source of the quirk; is it,
A) the MDD procs?
B) the 9600 video card?
C) the Sony CRT monitor?
D) the Word program?
E) something else?
F) a combo of two, or more of the above?

thanks,
Buzz

Between a hardware problem and a problem with your Microsoft product, which one are you gonna put your money on?

Can you log in to your Mac as another user and open the problem-file in Word again? It's the quickest way to find out if this is a pref problem.

What if his preference is not to look at this from a preferences perspective?

seems to be user independent... "test" user gets sames results..., fwiw, doce w/ changes was edited/changed on another computer and sent to me via email...

If you go into your Monitor prefs and change the refresh rate, does that eliminate the problem?

MM, that was my original thought, too, but under X.3.9 there is only one refresh (75Hz) available for Sony CRT at 1152X870... 75Hz & 60Hz available for 1280X1024 LCD, but doc scrolls fine on LCD...
